Andy Clyde

Senior Application Developer

Biography

I joined the Internet Society in March 2021 as a Senior Application Developer. My main role here is to look after the technical aspect of the MANRS and Pulse web applications.

I started wrangling computer code as a child on the ZX81 and the ZX Spectrum and have been passionate about computers and coding ever since. I started my working life in the music scene in Oxford, UK, where I set up an online shop selling CDs, merchandise, and MP3 downloads in the late 1990s. Since then, I have worked in a variety of roles in companies ranging from small start-ups to large multinationals. I have worked in many areas including event ticket sales, publishing, digital wallets, gardening software, and most recently, an educational platform providing online learning tools for children aged 11 to 16.

When not at a computer, you can often find me out on my bike in the countryside around Chester, North Wales and further afield, having a beer with friends in a local pub or learning the Welsh language. I am always happy to watch or talk about sport, especially Ipswich Town and Oxford United football clubs. I am based in Chester, UK.
