Wireless for Communities Conference, Delhi
The conference component of the Wireless for Communities project was held successfully in Delhi in mid-December with around 150 delegates in attendance.
The roundtable on wireless connectivity produced a set of recommendations which will be sent to relevant stakeholders. After the keynote session, the group was broken up into four thematic areas covering policy, content, stakeholders role and engagement and capacity building respectively. Each thematic group was asked to deliberate on the subject matter and present a five-point set of recommendations.
The main session was captured on video (as well as being webcast live) and archives are available here

The local partner, DEF, kindly offered ISOC a booth at the Manthan exhibition, and three of the four Indian chapters (Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata) sent representatives to help man the booth and participate in event proceedings. The booth had good attendance with many queries being fielded on ISOC’s activities and membership.
