Rajnesh Singh, Regional Bureau Manager for Asia, visited Colombo, Sri Lanka at the invitation of the ICT Agency of Sri Lanka (ICTA), the apex ICT body in the country. ICTA is a government agency, and co-ordinates ICT initiatives in the country.

Singh was invited to speak at the .LK 20th Year Anniversary event and spoke on ISOC’s role in the development of the Internet. The event also saw the launch of the first global IDN TLDs – in Sinhala and Tamil – another milestone for Sri Lanka that puts it at the leading edge of IDN deployment.

During his visit, Singh met with senior government, private sector and academic officials, as well as the Sri Lankan Minister for Science and Technology.

Earlier in the week, Singh provided an update on ISOC activities at an APTLD (Asia Pacific Top Level Domain Association) meeting which was also held in Colombo.
